In less than 24 hours I will be welcoming my parents and introducing them to Durham, NC for the first time, and the southern heat. Of course the weekend they come it might hit 100 for the first time this summer, and it's going to feel like it's way over 100 because of the heat index. Thank goodness for an air conditioned house and hotel room. We have so much planned that I'm afraid it's going to go by way too quickly, and life will be back to normal again, but for now I'm just smiling at the fact that I'll be able to see them and poke fun at my dad like old times.
This week has been uneventful as work only scheduled me one day this week, which was very frustrating, and I didn't have any activities going on. But I still enjoyed my week. I finally got caught up on sleep that I missed during Grace Mart, found some good job prospects that I am going to be looking into after my parents leave, and really studied for the GRE (did I mention that I hate analogies?). Plus I finally established a family doctor and orthotist and had appointments with both this week.
I also went to walmart and discovered back to school has started and that was when it really hit me that I'm not going back....I sometimes think I'll wake up and I'll be back in Michigan preparing for my senior year and packing to make the five hour drive to Olivet, but I'm not dreaming, and school isn't starting for me, and it makes me want to fast forward to next summer so that I could start my masters at UNC because I love being a student, and I would love to be able to get a social work job.
