Hey Everybody,
For those who do read this, I'm sorry I haven't kept up with blogging as much as I thought I would. But I have the time now and there's so much to catch you up on, here it goes...
My internship has gone to the next level, and I no longer observe, I am actually doing things. Lately, due to the number of people on our census and some other problems & consults going on I have been almost completely on my own with the inpatients, doing check ins and psychosocial assessments, and writing case notes. Now, doing these I know I have gone into the right field and that my ultimate goal is to be a medical social worker at a hospital like Duke, and maybe even Duke someday. It is hard to believe that it is already close to the end of March and after that I'll only have four weeks left, and five weeks until I graduate.
As for the future, I have decided to make North Carolina my permanent home.I'm working on becoming a resident already and I'm searching for a second job (besides Wendy's) for the next year while I am applying for graduate school in the Summer of 2010. My #1 school is UNC @ Chapel Hill, but ECU, and NC State are also choices so I am probably going to apply to all three.
In the meantime, I am just building my own life and adjusting to the fact that I will no longer be a Michigan resident, and I won't see my family but once or twice a year.
